Genesis 5

I was reminded of an amazing study that Chuck Missler did on Genesis chapter 5.  In researching the root meaning of the names found in the genealogy from Adam to Noah, he discovered the Gospel message embedded in the list.

Hebrew        English
Adam            Man
Seth              Appointed
Enosh            Mortal
Kenan           Sorrow;
Mahalalel      The Blessed God
Jared            Shall come down
Enoch           Teaching
Methuselah   His death shall bring
Lamech        The Despairing
Noah            Rest, or comfort.

Remarkably, when you read through the English meaning, this is what you get:

Man (is) appointed mortal sorrow; (but) the Blessed God shall come down teaching (that) His death shall bring (the) despairing rest.

Our God is an awesome God, Who inhabits eternity and is pleased to interface with His creation.
